The water supply system for the city of Cabinda, which will also supply the village of Lândana, in the municipality of Cacongo, will allow water to reach more than 630,000 people in a first stage, and will later extend its network with the implementation of 70,000 household connections.
The first one was the responsibility of the Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, who inaugurated the Water Treatment Station of Sassa Zau – Bissassanha and the Distribution Centre of Luvula- Lândana was inaugurated by the Province Governor, Marcos Alexandre Nhunga. Those two acts were witnessed by the President of the Parliamentary Bancada and Coordinator of accompaniment of MPLA’s Political Bureau in Cabinda, Vírgilio de Fontes Pereira.
After the two inaugurations, the delegation left for a visit to the Malembo Thermal Power Plant where it was verified the installation of another Aeroderivative Power Plant with a capacity of 25 MW, which is in the commissioning phase, expecting to enter in commercial operation, in the first fortnight of July.
The government officials inaugurated the Tchizo Distribution Centre in Cabinda municipality.
The inaugurated WTP of Sassa Zau will depend on the Chiluango River catchment and is implanted in the village of Bissassanha, on a 17. It has an Administrative Building; Pre-oxidation and rapid mixing tank; Dosage building; 3 Decanters; Filters building; Operating chamber; Treated water tank; Pumps, fans and auxiliaries building; Generator building; Sludge line; Streets; Fencing and Sentry box, totalling 6,431.55 m2 of gross construction area.
The Luvula – Lândana Distribution Centre, on the other hand, is implanted in an area of 3,300.00 m2 of gross construction area, and has two 500 m3 reservoirs; a 50 m3 elevated reservoir; maneuvering chambers; pump room; generator cover; roadways; fencing; landscaped areas and PT AI 250 KVA, totaling 1,050 m3 of water reserve. Finally, the Tchizo Distribution Centre also inaugurated today, has an area of 7.912,00 m2 of gross implantation area, contains 4 reservoirs of 5.550 m3; 375 m3 elevated reservoir; Office building; 2 maneuver chambers; Generator building; Pump building; Streets; Fencing; Garden areas and PT 250 Kva supported.
Totaling 22.575 m3 of water reserve.
According to Minister João Baptista Borges, with the entry into operation of this reinforcement system, better conditions for the beneficiary populations are guaranteed. The Minister added that this is an effort that the Executive led by the President of the Republic, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, has been developing, and thanked the good interaction with the local Government, in coordination with the Ministry of Energy and Waters for the conclusion of this objective. João Baptista Borges also pointed out that the construction work now inaugurated had its beginning about 5 years ago.
The governor, Marcos Alexandre Nhunga, appealed, on behalf of all Cabindans, for the conservation of the infrastructures and the conservation of the materials by the citizens of the localities now inaugurated.
